The benefits of ground coffee beans is that it is fresher and healthier than whole beans. There is less chance that you may ingest any bacteria from the ground beans if you choose to purchase them as opposed to whole beans. This is mainly because the bean that is being ground is not subjected to air, moisture, or oxygen. Whole beans do have all these factors and are susceptible to being infected. Ground beans, however, tend to lose most of their original aroma when opening up a fresh bag of beans from the store. By using freshly ground coffee when brewing coffee, there is more of the aroma that is originally intended there.

Many people prefer to use ground coffee because it is easier to clean and prepare. In fact, it is possible to make espresso with a coffee grinder. This is one reason many people use this method of brewing coffee because the resulting beverage is quite tasty. However, you need to know how to choose your grinds carefully so you can get the best cup of espresso that you can.

Beans should be ground at about two thousand to four thousand grams of beans per pound of coffee that you want to make. This means that if you have six ounces of whole bean coffee for each eight ounce cup you brew, you should grind your beans accordingly. However, grinds should be used sparingly, which means a quarter teaspoon of grinds per cup is the recommended amount. You should not overdo the grinds because they can cause the coffee to become bitter. Once you have chosen the grinds you would like to use, it is important to remember to store them properly. It is okay to grind your beans until they become brittle because the coffee will still taste good. However, storing them in a tightly sealed container will keep your coffee fresh and you will not have to worry about losing the flavor when you open the bag.
